A man who allegedly stole a Nissan motor car from a beach in Portmore was remanded when he appeared before the court yesterday. He is Rajay McPherson, 20, mechanic of Kingston 11. When the matter came up for mention, McPherson was told that the court could not grant bail at this time. Allegations are that on August 30, the complainant drove his Nissan B14 to Hellshire Beach in St Catherine. A short time after, he realised it was missing. It was reported to the Portmore police and a search launched, the accused was caught driving the vehicle in Naggo Head. He was subsequently arrested and charged with larceny of motor vehicle. The vehicle has been released on a bond to the owner, who was told not to alter or dispose of it. McPherson is set to reappear in court on October 29. |
