Teknique ready to make musical mark

GT Muzik recording artiste Teknique dropped out of college in the United States in 2010 to pursue his music career.

Since then, he has worked with a number of local producers including Waterhouse's Baby G, son of legendary Lloyd 'King Jammys' James.

The talented singjay said he learnt a lot from the people he has worked with since he began his career, especially Baby G.

"Since I've been working on my career, I have learned a lot about the music business from people like Baby G. He has taught me a lot about voicing in the studio, among other things. He also enrolled me into the Edna Manley School of music to do voice training. He has played a great role in my development as an artiste."

highest levels

Now under the management of veteran broadcaster and events promoter GT Taylor, Teknique is ready to take his career to the highest levels in dancehall music.

"I am now working with GT Taylor. He's very knowledgeable about the business and has a lot of connections, so I know that my career is in good hands. GT is like a father figure to me, musically, I have a lot of respect for him. He's a very serious businessman," Teknique said.

"Having the right team to work with is very important. You could have all the talent in the world, and still don't make it if you're not working with the right people. I am very happy to be working with a professional management team. That way I can focus on making music and doing my work, knowing that I am working with competent people who are guiding me in the right direction."

GT Taylor believes Teknique has a very bright future in music.

"Teknique is an extremely talented artiste. He is also very humble and hard-working, and that's a big plus because, as the saying goes, your attitude will decide your altitude. I can tell that he's going to be a star in the business. All we have to do is put in the work and the right results will come," said GT.

Teknique is promoting two new singles, Take You Away and Claim She Love Me, produced by GT Taylor and released on his GT Muzik imprint.
