Konshens donates AC to Duhaney Park Cyber Shack |

Godfrey Williams (left), chairman of the Centre Management Committee, accepts the air conditioning unit from Konshens on behalf of the Duhaney Park Cyber Shack. - Contributed Dancehall star Konshens and his Subkonshus Music team recently donated an air conditioning unit to the Duhaney Park Cyber Shack, which is located at the Duhaney Park Community Centre. The computer lab was commissioned in June of this year and was funded by the Universal Service Fund. In a release to the media, Godfrey Williams, chairman of the Centre Management Committee which manages the facility, said "The Cyber Shack serves residents from Marverly, Duhaney Park, Coreville Gardens, and surrounding communities. We are thankful to Konshens and his team for the donation because this will only make the use of the facilities a little more comfortable". giving back Miguel Noble, manager for Konshens, noted that the gesture was the dancehall artiste's way of giving back to the community. "The community has served us for many years and this is our way of giving back. The computer lab is very essential and when we found out that they needed an air conditioning unit, we decided to give some assistance," Noble explained. The Duhaney Park Cyber Shack is opened Mondays to Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. It serves more than 50 persons daily. Free classes for senior citizens are conducted Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10 and 11 a.m. Noble hinted that his team will be putting together a project to raise funds to benefit the nearby Duhaney Park Clinic. |
