Star Tell Me Pastor

Searching for my child's mother

Dear Pastor,

I am a regular reader of your column and I want to congratulate you on the work that you have been doing. My problem is that I am trying to find my child's mother. She used to live in an apartment on Laighton Road. I know her as Suzette, and her sister's name is Karen.

She knows me as June and I am a twin. I used to stay with some friends who were living on Collin Green Avenue, but they were from rural Jamaica.

After I started to date Suzette, she got pregnant, but at the time, she was filing to go to the USA. Her mother found out that she was pregnant and was encouraging her to have an abortion, but Suzette didn't want that.

I was in Kingston at the time when Suzette went to the doctor to have the abortion, but she decided that she was going to take a chance by keeping the pregnancy even if the baby was going to take her life. She ran out of the hospital and came to tell me what had happened. She didn't go home that night, so we slept outside.

Anyway, I went to the country and came back a few weeks afterwards. I went to look for Suzette and I found her in the apartment yard sitting on a bike with a man. I went to talk to her and she told me that I no longer had a babymother because the man was her boyfriend. She said the man was planning to take her with the pregnancy. I told her that was ok and left.

After about two years, I was doing something in Kingston, so I stopped by to visit her. She was happy to see me. She sent me for my daughter and I was able to identify her even though other children were there. She was surprised that I took up the right child. I told her that the child and I look the same.

Pastor, there are good and bad friends. She gave a friend of mine a message to give me and I got it. When I went back to see her, she had already left for the US. Please, I am asking you for your assistance in getting in touch with her.

C.M., U.S.A.

Dear C.M.,

I wish you well as you search for the mother of your daughter.
