The first Instahype, the party with a difference, was held in Stony Hill, St. Andrew, on Saturday, September 14.

The party, promoted by Raggah Mufinz Entertainment and Bloodstain Entertainment Group, started slowly, but the pace picked up. Throughout the night, party people jumped to the selections of disc jocks Bloodstain, DJ Phill Dawg, and ZJ Elektra. Sexy ladies were seen gyrating when dancing tunes blared from the sound system while the males kept the bar busy all night.

something different

According to Dre Hype of Raggah Mufinz Entertainment, his company wanted to do something different on the entertainment scene.

"We wanted a different type of vibe, and that's why the music was so unique. We had blends from all eras of Jamaican music, plus foreign music. So everybody was well satisfied," he said.

He added: "This year was a sure success and will be even stronger next year."

Songs like Vybz Kartel's Business, Hi and School had patrons shouting for an encore. While Konshens' Bubble, Venom and QQ's One Drop among others had the females dancing in groups.

Earlier, old school dancehall and reggae songs like Super Cat's Mud Up, and Missing You by Sanchez, had patrons equally hyped up as they enjoyed the juggling.

The party went until the wee hours of the morning and was well attended.
