Man accused of breaking into warehouse offered bail

A man accused of breaking into a warehouse was offered bail in the sum of $200,000 with one or two sureties in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Charged with warehouse breaking and larceny is Ricardo Reid.

The court heard that on September 1, security personnel responded to a burglary at a factory. The accused was alleged to have been seen by security personnel but ran off. He was later apprehended by another team of security personnel. At the site of the incident, empty feed bags and machetes were discovered.

Reid's attorney argued to the contrary and said that he was seen one mile away from where the incident happened and that he had been on a beach.

Resident Magistrate Lorna Shelly-Williams set the matter for mention on October 7.
