A man who allegedly killed his two-year-old son was remanded when he appeared in court on Monday. Denzil Campbell, otherwise called 'Chris', 27, of Innswood Housing Scheme St Catherine, is charged for the death of Jaheem Campbell. When the matter came up for mention, Resident Magistrate Annmarie Nembhard ordered that he be remanded until October 8 when the matter will be called up. Allegations are that, on August 27 the deceased visited the accused's home. He reportedly called the child's mother gave her the child's and hurried away. The child started to show signs of distress shortly after. He was rushed to hospital where he died suddenly. A post-mortem conducted on the child's body revealed he was beaten on the head with a blunt object. Campbell was subsequently charged with murder. He is being represented by attorney-at-law Grace-Ann Cameron. |
