A man who has been charged in connection to the theft of several items from a superstore was ordered to return to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on October 24. Charged with unlawful possession of property, receiving stolen property, and simple larceny is Godfrey Smith. The Crown is alleging that a number of items valued at several thousand dollars were stolen from the Bascho Superstore, and police acting on information, and armed with search warrants went to premises where the accused was located. He told officers that he got the items from a woman who had asked him to store them; however, when the woman was questioned in front of him, his story proved contrary. He was subsequently ordered to return in late October at which time the matter would be mentioned. |
