Russell, who has won three of her five 200m races this season and was running her first half lap race since July 28, crashed the tape ahead of the pack in a time of 22.62, a big season and personal best for the improving MVP athlete.

Christine Day finished fourth in 51.78.

Another MVP athlete Rusheen McDonald, the first leg runner for Jamaica's world 4x400m silver-medal winning relay team, crossed the line first in the seldom run 300m with a time of 31.97 ahead of Italian pair Diego Marani, 32.85 and Lorenzo Valentini, 33.18.

G.C. Foster College man Rasheed Dwyer - the World University Games silver medallist, ran a steady curve and solid last 100m to take the men's 200m in 20.30 for his second win on the European circuit, leading Serhiy Smelyk (Ukraine), 20.39, and Great Britain's Christopher Clarke, 20.44 to the line.
