Eastern All-Stars from Windward Road assumed sole leadership in the Wray & Nephew White Overproof skittles competition last Sunday when they defeated Eagles 7-4 at Bejon's Sports Bar, Hughenden Plaza.

As a result, Eastern lead the Premier League standings with 15 points from six matches, representing five wins and a loss. Eagles, who were joint leaders prior to Sunday, have dropped to joint second with Rowe's Strikers, both having 12 points, representing four wins and two losses, with Starliner in fourth on nine points

In other Premier League matches played last Sunday, Rowe's Strikers beat Waltham Strikers 7-4, Starliner clipped Mister C 'B' 6-5, while in major league action, leaders Mister C 'A' pipped The Dip 6-5, and Olympic Strikers beat Mystix 7-4.

Matches tomorrow

Matches on tomorrow are as follows: At Mister C in Spanish Town, Mister C 'B' will oppose Rowe's at 2 p.m., followed by Mister C 'A' vs Mystix. At Eastern All-Stars in east Kingston, Mercury vs The Dip in the first match at 2 p.m., followed by Eastern vs Starliner at 5 p.m., Eagles will oppose Waltham Strikers at Olympic Way starting at 3 p.m.

The skittles fraternity is mourning the passing of the veteran Alfred Rowe, founder and proprietor of Rowe's Strikers Skittles Club.

Rowe died last Monday night after a long illness. The Jamaica Slkittles Federation, through its president, Sam Allen, has extended condolences to his family.
