What is you view on the rise in bus and taxi fares?

Basil Salmon

"I was expecting the increase in fares for sometime now. It is just something we are faced with and we just have to live with it."

Veneisia Simms

"The fare increase can't come at a worse time. Now is back to school and parents are feeling the pinch. It will cause me to increase the allowance I give my children to come to school, and civil servants' wages are frozen, so there lies the problem."

Bryan McKenzie

"To be frank, the hike in fares is a setback for me. I now have to pay more transportation for the month, and our salaries aren't being increased. What will happen to a father with three children? How will he cope with these extra expenses?"

Jerrie-Ann Palmer

"It doesn't make a big difference from $80 to $100. Furthermore, some bus conductors and taxi operators were already charging $100 prior to the increase."

Ornaldo Lewis

"I can't deal with this fare increase at all. I don't like to give away my money like that. The increase in bus fares will shorten my allowance for the week as my father won't be increasing the allowance I usually receive."

Shi-Ann Chen

"The fare increase was not appropriate at this time. Remember, it is mainly poor people take the bus, and that will put a strain on the most vulnerable in society. It's best that they put more taxes on alcoholic beverages and cigarettes."
