"Ting a ling a ling, school bell ring, this Saturday inna Privilege is a uniform ting"

As the summer comes to a bittersweet end, there is no better way to bid it farewell than to reminisce on the Good Ol' Days - G.OL.D.

The promoters of G.OL.D. have advised that tonight, all school ties, khakis, clarks, hush puppies, tunics, and short uniform skirts should be pointed to Club Privilege.

"The only theme parties people seem to keep nowadays are coloured themes. And patrons have been growing weary of the same ol', same ol' parties, as well as there has been a growing demand for some of the older dancehall hits, so it was only fitting that we kept a Throwback Uniform Party to help patrons reminisce and party, just like in the good ol' days," explained event promoter, Dominic McDowell.

Musical juggling

The promoters promise top-class musical juggling from the early '90s to early 2000's and, according to event promoter Sherilla Gordon, the music will be placed in the capable hands of Renaissance Disco, Coppershot and DJ Flabba Dabba.

"Our DJs are excited and ready to throw you back into the years when tracks from Copper Cat, Ward 21, Mr Lexx, Ninja Kidd, Mr G, Mad Cobra, Lady Saw, Lady G and Beenie Man, just to name a few, ruled the dancehall," Gordon expressed.

G.OL.D. features two-for-one mix drink specials, as well as a "video light", a staple of many events back then, courtesy of budding videography company Short Filmz Jamaica, as well as a detox area by Caribbean Dreams Teas.

"Being that this is the last must-go-to party for the summer, we really wanted to make the admission prices attractive.

"There's no other party where you can get top selectors, with the ultimate vibe, for only $600 in uniform, and $1,000 without," commented promoter Natalya Jackson on the event's admission prices.
