Two before the court for illegal ammunition

A man and woman were hauled before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, after they were allegedly found to be in possession of illegal ammunition.

Charged with possession of illegal ammunition are Andre Depasse and Nakeita Rhule.

The Crown is alleged that, on the day of the incident, the police executed a search warrant at residents belonging to the couple. Where two live .38 rounds and one blank round was discovered in a safe in a bedroom.

It is further alleged that two separate accounts of how Depasse came to be in possession of the ammunition were proffered.

The couple subsequently pleaded not guilty to the charges and is to return to court on November 25, when the matter will be set for trial.
