Jason Moody could never have imagined that by topping up his Digicel account online, he could earn enough cash to help his daughter get the surgery she so badly needs. Moody, a new Digicel customer, joins five other Digicel customers who have won $20,000 each in Digicel's back-to-school promotion. Moody, who journeyed from his hometown in St Catherine to collect his prize at the Digicel head office, said: "This is the first time I am winning something from Digicel, and it is the best time to win. My daughter is ill and she needs surgery, so this winning will definitely go towards that. But I am also happy that I will have enough money left over to help my sister send her son back to school." Moody also said that he topped up online because that is his regular routine and preferred mode of topping up and the fact that he won the cash is a plus. Prize Jermaine Anderson is another winner who is happy that he decided to top up his Digicel account online. Anderson, who has a three-year-old son, plans to use his prize to ensure his son is all set for school in September. Commenting on the back-to-school promotion, Neil Lawrence, diaspora manager at Digicel, said, "We are always looking at giving back to our customers, and the fact that our promotion is helping customers in meaningful ways is a plus." Digicel's back-to-school promotion was launched on July 12. The promotion requires that customers top up online with $1,500 or more at www.digiceljamaica.com to qualify to win weekly prizes of $20,000 or the grand prize of $100,000. One lucky customer still has the chance to win $20,000 this week before the grand prize winner is chosen on September 5. |
