When it comes to matters of love and affection, age is definitely a number. And, a 65-year-old woman yesterday told the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court that her family was making her life miserable because they didn't want her to have a man. The woman, who was the complainant in the matter, claims she received injuries to her arm during a stone throwing incident recently after the defendant hurled them at her man. The accused, the senior citizen's nephew, Moses Peters, is charged with assault occasioning bodily harm. He was bound over to keep the peace. A no order was eventually made. "Dem no want no man round me, is dem one want man," the complainant said, a comment that caused laughter in the courtroom. The complainant told Senior Resident Magistrate (RM) Judith Pusey that on the day of the incident, her nephew threw stones at her and her man. However, the defendant confessed that he was involved in the incident, but claimed the stones caught the woman accidentally as he was aiming at her beau. He also said he apologised to her. The complainant also told the court that another relative who was present at court was also another member of the family, who did not want her to have male companionship. The RM warned the defendant and
the other member of the family, who was present during the matter, to stay away from the complainant and her man.
