A 74-year-old man was still in hospital last night after gunmen attacked, robbed and then shot him as he urinated on the side of the Old Harbour main road in St Catherine on Saturday.

Police reports are that about 5:45 p.m. the man was the pillion rider of a motorcycle driven by his 37-year-old son as they headed towards Spanish Town. Upon reaching the vicinity of Innswood Estate, they reportedly stopped and were urinating near the road.

It is reported that a Toyota motor car with several occupants drove up and a gun was pointed at the men.

Shots were fired which resulted in the senior citizen receiving a wound to his chest.

He was subsequently robbed of an undetermined sum of money.

His son managed to escape unhurt.

The Spanish Town police are investigating.
