A lawsuit has been filed against a woman who is alleged to have given her husband and his lover a severe beating when she caught them dancing in a club.

The husband has complained that he "is the victim" in the situation as his wife and his lover are upset with him. According to the husband, his wife is threatening to divorce him if he continues the relationship with his lover, while the lover has threatened that she is going ahead with the lawsuit if he does not leave his wife.

"This is a very difficult time in my life because I am in love with both my wife and my lover and don't want to lose them," he disclosed.

"My lover is a bartender and she is very affectionate towards me and is always calling me to find out how I am doing. My wife is a nurse who works very hard to ensure that the home lacks nothing, but sometimes, I get ignored in the process. This is the reason I got involved with this bartender.

"I love my wife dearly because she is the mother of my three children and we have been married for 15 years. I also love the bartender, and I really don't want to live without them.

"Some months ago, I went to a club with my lover and someone called my wife and told her I was at the club with a woman. My wife came there and confronted us. She attacked me and the woman and began hitting us all over our bodies with a piece of stick. We had to seek medical attention, but my lover wants to humiliate my wife, so she has sued her for pain and suffering and medical expenses.

"Now, I am a victim because my wife has forgiven me, but she has warned me that if she ever sees me and my lover together, she is going to divorce me. My lover says if I don't leave my wife and come and live with her, she is going ahead with the lawsuit.

"I am really confused over the whole issue, but I know I have to end the relationship with one of them. My friends are encouraging me to stay with my wife and end the relationship with the bartender because although I am the one paying the mortgage for the house in which we live, my wife, whose name is on the title, is entitled to a half of the house."

Your wife, who has been contributing to the upkeep of the home and is also a joint tenant of the property, is entitled to 50 per cent of the value of the property. Section 6 of the Property (Rights of Spouses) Act states that on the grant of a decree of dissolution of a marriage or the termination of cohabitation, each spouse is entitled to one-half share of the family home. A spouse is a single man who has cohabitated with a single woman or a single woman who has cohabitated with a single man for a period of not less than five years immediately before the institution of proceedings for the division of the property.
