Ninja Man coping with sudden rise

Ninja Man, since he signed to Downsound Records almost a year ago, has seen his career and life make a turn in the right direction.

The veteran hard-core lyricist, who recently received travel privileges throughout the Caribbean, is currently negotiating a major European tour, which will be a partnership among a Polish agent, Downsound Records, and Contractor's Marketing, which is owned and operated by the label's marketing director, Sean 'Contractor' Edwards.

Ninja Man, real name Desmond Ballentine, has had significant opportunities since the release of his single, Ninja Mi Ninja, a song which sits pretty on several local charts and Number 5 on DJ Gusma charts in Italy, as well as is steadily climbing the reggae charts of the UK's biggest radio company, Choice FM with DJ Natty.

Ninja Mi Ninja was produced by Scatta Burrell, and the video was directed by Mr B, an alter ego used by the label's CEO, Joseph Bogdanovich, when directing music videos.

The video was also premiered throughout Europe via Ben TV's Lifestyle programme, which is aired on Sky 182. Contractor was a special guest on the programme.

Ninja Man has also found favour with Dweet, a collaborative effort between him and fellow label mate, Specialist.

The veteran is still coping with the sudden rise of his long and colorful career. "I am here enjoying it and working hard at the same time. Everything is going fine right now," he said.
