The municipality of Portmore was transformed into the 'Gullyside' when fans of the Gully Gad Mavado flocked the Famous nightclub for his performance on Tuesday night.

By 2 a.m., a huge crowd had gathered at the entrance of the club, hoping to find a spot inside.

Resident selector Solar Dre amped up the crowd in anticipation of the much-talked-about performance.

At 4 a.m., it was time for the big show. Dressed in a black top and camouflage pants, a militant Mavado had the jam-packed crowd in a frenzy.

Appreciative audience

Reeling off hits from his extensive catalogue including Don't Worry and Gullyside, Mavado could do no wrong for the appreciative audience.

"Mi nuh deh pon Sumfest this year cuz dem feel like dem can stop mi shine," Mavado said before launching into Hope and Pray.

With phones in the air ready to capture his every move, fans of the Gully Gad were not disappointed.

"Big up Bounty Killer, a di general dat, and big up Vybz Kartel," he said, much to the delight of the crowd.

Money Don't Change Me, Gangsta Life, Whe Dem A Do and Real Mckoy were also huge hits with the fans.

Making reference to the once popular Gully/Gaza feud, Mavado denounced his haters.

"Memba wid di war between me an Addi, some man say mi caan cross the toll, but a dis mi haffi tell dem ... a Gullyside and Gaza run dis ...," he said before launching into Touch Di Road.

Mavado also used this medium to introduce his up-and-coming Gullyside artistes Chase Cross, 3 Star, Simple Star, and ShakOne.

The young artistes impressed the crowd and even earned 'forwards' for their brief cameos.

Mavado then took back the reins and songs such as Do Road, Steppa, and Every Gyal followed.

After a brief technical difficulty where he urged the engineer to fix the monitors so he would not 'hoarse up mi million-dollar voice', the gangstress Stacious joined him onstage.

Together, they delivered a sexy, sultry performance of Come Into My Room, much to the delight of the males in the audience.

Mavado continued into the morning with Come Round, Gyal Wine, and some of his newer hits.
