TOK 'shells' Xtreme Wet n Wild - Shoots video for Major Lazer-produced single at party |
|||||
TOK 'Shells' Xtreme Wet n Wild Amid all the fun and frolic at the Xtreme Wet n Wild party held at the Kool Runnings Adventure park last Sunday under the Smirnoff Dream Weekend banner, international dancehall group, TOK, decided to add to the excitement of the atmosphere and 'Shell It Down'. Yes, believe it or not, TOK decided to shoot the video for their latest single, produced by Major Lazer, titled Shell It Down, at the Xtreme Wet n Wild party. Roshaun 'Bay-C' Clarke, one of the members of TOK, gave a little insight into why they decided to shoot their music video at that particular party. "We felt that Wet n Wild has an amazing energy which would be ideal for the Shell It Down music video. The visuals of the splashing water and the partiers having fun were ideal for the video," he said. According to Bay-C, "The concept of the video sees TOK shipwrecked. they then stumble on to a fantasy island - 'Bumaye Island'. TOK then sees a beautiful lady playing the horns and mysteriously luring them through the bushes. They eventually end up at various parties on the island and while partying, keep on running into this mystery lady." The video was directed by Jay Will. The video itself should be very exciting for fans to watch when final editing is completed. Bay-C recalls some of the scenes that were captured during the shoot. "There was a TOK performance of the song on stage, a TOK performance of the song by the pool, TOK jumping into the pool and a few crowd shots of people partying," he said. Kamal Bankay, one of the promoters of Xtreme Wet n Wild, also expressed his appreciation to TOK for the video at the party. "We are elated that TOK decided to use our event to shoot their video. This is a high-energy event that matches the vibrancy of the song," Bankay said. Carla Hollingsworth, brand manager at Pepsi, one of the major sponsors of the event, said she could understand why TOK chose the event. "This is a truly Jamaican event put on by local promoters and sponsored by all-Jamaican companies. A video shoot for a local dancehall group here is ideal and just makes sense!" In closing, Bay-C, on behalf of the TOK group and their company, XCARR Limited, also thanked the promoters and patrons for accommodating the shoot at the party. "We know that the event is an extremely prestigious one that sometimes is rendered inaccessible to many patrons based on certain constraints. We also understand that every complimentary pass issued is potential revenue, so we truly appreciate you and your team accommodating us. Also, we look forward to having a great music video within the next few weeks. The video would not be the same without the Wet n Wild shots, so we thank you again for this opportunity." |
