Two men killed, cops seeking seven
Rasbert Turner, Star Writer

Two men were killed in separate but related incidents in Linstead, St Catherine, yesterday.

The men were killed as a spin-off of a gang feud over the sharing of criminal proceeds. They are Tyrone Murray, 28, of Bottom Cedar Lane, Banbury, and Garth Parkes, 42, of the same community.

The Linstead police said that about 2 a.m., three men allegedly gained entrance to Murray's home and chopped him several times.

Four hours later, the lawmen were summoned to another area of the community, where residents reported hearing explosions. There they found Parkes' body lying in a room of his home with several gunshot wounds.

The police said they have increased their presence in the community. Police Commissioner Owen Ellington toured a section of Linstead, and spoke to residents about the ongoing violence.

Late yesterday, detectives from the St Catherine North Division listed seven men as persons of interest. They are:

Myron 'Ice' Hawkins of Dela Vega City.

Kirk 'Meg' Forrester, also of Dela Vega City.

Kerage 'Short Piece' Bailey of Victoria district, Linstead, and four men known only as Addi, Buru, Russian and Mouthist, all of Victoria district.

The police said these men are being asked to report to the Linstead police or the Spanish Town police by 5 p.m. today.

Anyone knowing their whereabouts is being asked to contact the Linstead police at 985-2285/9070 or the Spanish Town police at 984-2305.
