Taxi operator facing murder charges
Rasber Turner, Star Writer

A 29-year-old taxi operator of Westmoreland and St Catherine addresses is to appear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on murder charges arising from the deaths of two women over a year ago.

The bodies of Nyoka and Charlene Campbell, both of Glendevon addresses in St James, were found with multiple stab wounds in the Spring Village area of St Catherine last year. Their bodies were found a day after they had left to attend the annual Boys and Girls' Athletic Championships at the National Stadium.

The man was charged on Wednesday, three weeks after he was picked up by detectives from the St Catherine South Police Division, at a popular night spot in Portmore.

Following a question and answer session, he was charged with two counts of murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit murder.

He is to appear in court on August 9, to answer to the charges.

THE STAR understands that both women left Montego Bay and were never seen again until their bodies were found.
