Three firearms discovered in separate incidents |

|
Seven men have been taken into custody following the discovery of three firearms in three separate incidents on the weekend. In the first incident on Saturday morning, a man was detained after a gun was seized in Little London, Westmoreland. The Savanna-la-Mar police said about 7:30, officers on an operation on Station Road searched a premises where the firearm, a .38 Smith and Wesson revolver, and a .38 cartridge, were found in a bag in a room. The man was subsequently detained. Later that day, five men were arrested after a .38 revolver and six .38 cartridges were found inside a vehicle they were traveling in, during an operation in Braeton, Portmore, St Catherine. The Portmore police said about 6:30 p.m., the driver of a Toyota Corolla motor car was signalled to stop. He reportedly complied and the weapon and ammunition were found during a subsequent search of the vehicle. Then yesterday morning, a 9mm Browning pistol and three 9mm rounds were seized on Sixth Street, Bellrock, Kingston 11. The Hunts Bay police said lawmen on duty searched several premises and found the weapon and one man was detained. The identities of the seven men detained are being withheld pending further investigations. |
