Winner, Martina Shim, receives her trophy from Deputy Mayor of Portmore Leon Thomas.

Martina Shim was recently crowned Mini Miss Portmore during the pageant's grand coronation show at the Portmore Heart Academy.

She took the crown ahead of second-place Shantae Morris and Adreann Bradshaw, who placed third.

The pageant, staged by Promotional Links Industries, got off to an electrifying start with all nine contestants showcasing their talent in a dance routine. This was followed by Gabriann Thomas performing her winning drama piece from 2012, after which last year's winner, Titania Mycko, performed a dialect piece celebrating Jamaica 50.

It was time for the talent pieces, and each contestant graced the stage with her presence. The atmosphere got heated, with cheers and applause from different groups in the audience. There was friendly rivalry as some patrons showed off their placard with the name of their preferred contestant, while others celebrated with horns and whistles.

Soon, it was time for eveningwear. The cheers got louder and louder as the contestants paraded on stage. At the end, they were serenaded by Joshua Paige.

The contestants gave a good account of themselves and delivered a great performance.

Participation trophies sponsored by the Portmore Municipality were presented to each contestant by Deputy Mayor Leon Thomas. Sectional prizes included Best Talent and Most Aware awarded to Martina Shim. Prizes included gift vouchers, medals, trophies from the Portmore Municipality, a television from Promotional Links Industries, and cash prizes.
