Police seized approximately 80 pounds of ganja and a motor vehicle on the New Green main road in Mandeville on Wednesday.

Reports from the Area 3 Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division are that about 9:35 p.m., a team of officers was conducting an operation when they stopped a Toyota Camry motor car. The vehicle was searched and five black plastic bags packed with ganja were found on the back seat.

The driver was taken into custody. His name is being withheld pending further investigations.
