Accused CXC document forger to return to court

A man accused of trying to gain entrance to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) by allegedly using a forged Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) examination certificate is to return to The Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on September 10, the date set for mention.

Charged with conspiracy to defraud, forgery and possession of forged documents is Marc Wilson, who had his bail extended.

The court heard that on June 25, the accused man attended a JCF recruitment centre where he applied to be enlisted in the force. In support of his application, he allegedly submitted a fraudulent CXC certificate dated sometime in 2006, with grade one passes in mathematics, physics and chemistry.

An investigation, which was carried out subsequently, revealed that the results were not authentic and were not issued by the CXC office. Wilson was eventually apprehended and taken into custody.

A social enquiry report has also been requested and is expected to be submitted on the next mention date.
