MAN ABDUCTS, MOLESTS BOY

The man who was beaten for allegedly sexually touching a child he abducted was hauled before The Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

He is charged with abduction and gross indecency and was fingerprinted.

The allegations are that the young male child, who is from a Bread Lane address in Kingston, was taken to the seaside by his abductor. While with the man, the child was brought into a community via a taxi where it is further alleged that certain sexual activities were performed on him.

A resident from the community saw what was happening and pulled the alleged abductor from the taxi and along with other members of the community beat him. The accused man has denied the allegations.

In court, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey said that the accused man was a danger to the society.

The man was subsequently remanded until August 29. A preliminary hearing has also been set for that date.
