Recently retired Reggae Boy Marlon King has again found himself in trouble with the law after being arrested, and later released, on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a motor vehicle collision.

The accident is reported to have occurred in the wee hours of Saturday morning, in the central London area. The pedestrian, in his late 40s, was rushed to a central London hospital, with a suspected head injury. His wounds were not life-threatening. The incident is said to have occurred at the Bishops Bridge Road at the junction with Eastbourne Terrace.

King is said to have been released on police bail, pending a mid-September date. A metropolitan spokesperson confirmed knowledge of the incident to UK publication Birmingham Mail.

"A 33-year-old man was arrested by officers from City of London police on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision, and taken to a central London police station.

"He has been bailed to mid-September pending further inquiries. Detectives from Westminster are investigating," the official was quoted as saying.

According to the publication, an unnamed spokesperson at the player's club Birmingham FC confirmed that the outfit was aware of the incident.

In 2009, King was sentenced to 18 months in prison after been convicted of sexual assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, for striking a young woman in the face at a London night club. The forward served nine months of his sentence.

The 33-year-old, who retired from international football in November of last year, has been linked with a move away for the English Championship division club since the end of last season.
