The St Catherine South police have held a man in connection with the killing of two women whose bodies were found in the division in 2011.

Those killed have been identified as Jannoy and Nyoka Campbell, both of Glendevon district, St James. The police say the women were not related.

It was revealed to The Star that the man was held in the parish close to an entertainment venue as he enjoyed himself.

Investigators said that he is being questioned in connection with the double murder, however, his name is being withheld pending further investigations.

When The Star contacted the mother of one of the deceased, she said the police have given her hope that there may be closure in the case.

''I have suffered for two years, but now I feel a little better,'' Dawnette Atkinson, Jannoy's mother said.

Reports are that on March 31, 2011, the bodies of the deceased were found in bushes in Spring Village St Catherine.

At the time, it was revealed that both women left Montego Bay the day prior to attend the Boys and Girls' Championships in Kingston.
