Help our past Olympians!

Mi ignarant fi people wid one brain cell and who no have no reasoning ability and love cause problem and mix up fi try and mek themself relevant.

Mi glad mi is a woman who talk my mind and talk straight because mi naa kotch pon yeye top and mi no walk an trouble people...only if yuh trouble me first! Mi no mek people too worry mi because as long as yuh naa block my prayers or my oxygen, yuh luddy.

Mi read a story bout a former Olympian who represent Jamaica, medal fi Jamaica and right now she have to be living on the streets with her son and mi heart grieve and hurt fi dat. When mi a read she a seh she was robbed and received injuries to her head which started the downhill spiral of her life to date. She has no money, no where to live and gets no help from her child's father. She seh she go a her church and other sporting agencies, but, to date, has not gotten any substantial help.

Unnu know when mi see di church part it fertilise my pressure because when everybody else can turn dem back how can the house of the Lord weh fi cater to people in dem darkest hour turn dem back pon one of its members or give help but not in any meaningful way? So weh di offering collection fah? Only fi building fund?!

decision

She seh her family dem gi her a warm time and so she haffi lef from round dem and right now a bag juice she a sell and sleep a road at night. She say she haffi tek a decision and send weh her son go a farin because it did a get too sticky. What stand out inna mi mind as mi a read her story though, is that fact that she decide fi sell bag juice and earn a honest living instead a rob and thief. She decide fi sell bag juice and put her pride aside to earn a living even though she have up her degree and her education just so that she don't compromise her integrity.

As a woman to a woman mi heart goes out to her but also as a woman to a woman mi feel proud fi know seh a she a try fight fi life and she naa give give up. Thats why when mi see some a dem strong grey back bwoy yah a beg before dem even seh good morning or evening as the case maybe, it grieve me because see di lady live pon di road and still a try and nuff a dem wouldn't even start fi try.

Time rough and hard fi everybody ... all who have it, it still rough outta road but it is one's ambition and fortitude and drive that is gonna set us apart from the next man. She seh nuff time man an woman approach her fi come inna dem house but she no go because she nah give no sexual favours in return fi no boarding. Again mi applaud her because nuff a di zaaarbat dem out deh mek it look like nutten else no out deh fi dem do other than dash out demself because dem want use shortcut and get rich quick. But as mi always seh sometime anno di get rich quick is di toilet weh it can tun yuh inna a desso di problem lie!

Support

Her story touching to because it look hard fi know seh afta yuh don the colours and represent yuh country nobody no deh deh when yuh need a shoulder to lean on and help support yuh. Everybody glue to dem TV when the athletic events dem a gwaan and then after the people dem come back is like dem is nobody.

Shame on the authorities for allowing this to happen as the lady even say other former athletes a go through di same ting but dem might no waa talk cause dem back no broad like fi her own cause a javelin she used to throw. We haffi do better than this ... it no sound good nor look good. As a country we haffi put things in place for those who represent fi we, mi naa seh buy dem house and Benz or nutten extravagant, but if a even a likkle piece a land dem can build pon fi tek shame outta dem eye in case a anything.

Some jobs or career choices are very ungrateful. Everybody love yuh when yuh deh pon top and when di light a shine pon yuh but as soon as the script flip di same loud mouth dem weh seh yaaay seh naaay and when di judgement reach, a you alone inna it.

May we learn from the plight and predicament of others and try mek di best decisions. Mi hope the authorities will look into Olivia McKoy's case and reach out to her. It's a travesty what's happening to her. Unnu can tune in pon mi radio show Miss Kitty Live on Nationwide 90 FM inna Jamaica and Link Up Radio 93.5 FM inna New York fi follow it up! If a even fi call di contracta ... she need justice!
