Breakout summer for Rickey Teetz |
|||||
Rickey Teetz Montego Bay-based artiste Rickey Teetz is having a breakout summer as he has become a fixture of the party scene in western Jamaica. He gave a high-energy, dancehall-flossing performance at Lipgloss on July 12, where he received great support from the audience. It was pandemonium from the intro of his song Poverty Life as the crowd sang along. Then when he started the girls segment, excitement ran through the crowd like a bolt of electricity as he dropped his popular Tip Yuh, where girls rushed the stage to dance with him. At one point, he had the full attention of two females, one draped all over him, while the other 'backed it up' on him. When he did his next song, 6:30 Walk, three girls competed aggressively to show who had the best 6:30 walk. He exited the stage singing 1000 Block, and earned an immediate encore for the well-known hustler's anthem. This performance showed the maturity and growth of the artiste as he repeated the feat at Shapes & Shades a few days later. He also performed at a show dubbed Bliss in Negril on Friday, and on August 10 he is back at Pier One for XTASY. The summer has been a busy one for Rickey Teetz, and the best season for him since breaking on the dancehall scene last year. He appeared on CVM TV's 'Onstage' last month as he premiered the Tip Yuh video which has been in steady rotation on HYPE, CVM and CVM Plus. Teetz has raised the temperature out west with his heat-seeking singles that have won him new fans. He also shot a video for the song Just Clap, recorded for Inspired Music on the Hot Up rhythm. Tip Yuh is getting great airplay on HITZ, ZIP, Fame, Links 96 FM and IRIE. Teetz first scored a number one hit with Life Goes On, which went #1 on CVM Hitist for several weeks, and he has continued to show his versatility by releasing songs which target different markets.
