|
An elderly man accused of entering the dwelling of a woman and touching her bottom before assaulting her, was ordered to cover her medical expenses yesterday in The Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court. Fitzroy Douglas of a Corporate Area address, entered a not guilty plea to assault and denied touching the complainant any at all. He said, "your honour a bare lie she a tell pan mi enuh...". The court was told that the complainant was at home cooking when the accused entered her kitchen and touched her on her bottom. Allegations are that Douglas was told not to do it again and an argument developed where the complainant was punched in the face which caused a wound on the left side of her face. The complainant told the court that she needed $40,000 to do a CT Scan and that she had lost her job because of the injury. Senior RM Judith Pusey asked the accused if he would pay for the CT Scan and he agreed, however, he told the court he was unemployed at the moment. Douglas was ordered to return to court on August 7 with the $40,000. |
