Allegations are that on the day of the incident, the complainant was on a bus in downtown Kingston when the accused pushed his arm through a window and grabbed her chain.

The court heard that the accused was subsequently chased and arrested, however, the $30,000 chain was not recovered.

"Is a brother from schooldays link me, and we deh downtown. I was just standing when some people point me out and said that mi tek di chain," the accused said.

Meanwhile, the complainant wept openly in court and said she has no intentions to visit Jamaica again. "I was so scared, I will never come back to Jamaica," she cried.

In addition, the RM reminded the complainant that crime happens all over the world.
