Popular dancehall artiste Popcaan recently celebrated his birthday in style as hundreds turned out for his birthday celebration at Club Famous in Portmore on Saturday night.

"It's a great feeling enuh, especially fi know weh me a come from fi deh yah so," Popcaan told The weekend STAR.

Popcaan was extremely pleased with the turnout, saying "Mi grateful fi di love ansupport. Mi jus deh yah a enjoy it wid mi frens, mi family an di fans dem."

Although the night belonged to the unruly DJ, there was no doubt that Portmore is still Vybz Kartel's city with songs by the incarcerated artiste getting the most positive reactions from the crowd with resident DJ Dre playing hits such as Weed Smokers and Lighter in his set.

The crowd was then energised by a performance from Subkonshus artiste Darrio with hits such as School Feeand Gyal Si Dung. The crowd then erupted as Darrio called up the man of the moment, Popcaan, who entered the stage singing his hit Hear Dem Talk. He then proceeded to unleash a string of hits such as Dream and Unruly Rave.

His instructed, "All di tight ... gal dem say happy birthday Popcaan", which led to screams of 'Happy birthday Popcaan' as the females complied.

The unruly artiste then called up fellow entertainers Jahmeil, Poor and Boasy and Vibrant to perform.

Fans were extremely pleased with Popcaan's performance, and according to one of his fans, Andre' Smith, "Yuh dun kno seh a Pappy ting so mi did affi deh yah. Plus pree how di man perform haaaard, him neva disappoint yet."
