RAGING PROSPECT should make amends for his June 8 loss to United States-bred UPPA TUNE by landing tomorrow's overnight allowance at 1820 metres. Trainer Fitzroy Glispie has called in Panamanian Dick Cardenas to replace Paul 'Country' Francis at 50.0 kilos after the four-year-old gelding failed by a length to catch UPPA TUNE at 2000 metres last month. A two-turn specialist, RAGING PROSPECT is seeking his first win at overnight allowance since graduating to the level with a 12-length win against non-winners-of-four on March 30. In the first two races after his big victory, RAGING PROSPECT came up against COMMANDING CHIEF and ran creditably. However, with COMMANDING CHIEF cracking splits of 1:11.2 and 1:11.4 at a mile and 1500 metres, respectively, RAGING PROSPECT was burnt for speed. In his third race at the level, RAGING PROSPECT was far more comfortable at 2000 metres on June 8, but was outbattled by a resolute UPPA TUNE in a prolonged stretch duel. Glispie's runner faces another tough United States-bred tomorrow in ARGUMENT DONE, who will also relish the distance. However, the dark bay colt is in at 55.0 kilos, 11lb heavier than RAGING PROSPECT who will be ahead of him from the word go. RAGING PROSPECT's pace should have him dictating the pace down the backstretch, taking over from CLASSIC BEAU and MILITARY MOVE. Whereas ARGUMENT DONE should be hard pressed to reel in RAGING PROSPECT from a mark of 55.0 kilos, another United States-bred, JAH LOVE, should be charging at the end. RAGING PROSPECT, however, had the measure of JAH LOVE on June 8 when failing to catch UPPA TUNE by a length. JAH LOVE was five and a half lengths behind RAGING PROSPECT that afternoon and does not have the pace to turn the tables. Wayne DaCosta's DEO VOLENTE is an interesting entry after his May 25 run, three and a half lengths second behind COMMANDING CHIEF at 1500 metres. RAGING PROSPECT was closing steadily, and finished a length and a quarter adrift second-place DEO VOLENTE. It should be noted, however, that RAGING PROSPECT was at a distance well short of his best and has to be preferred over DEO VOLENTE at 1820 metres. Form players should look to AWESOME SENSATION in the opening event at 1200 metres and first-timer MIDNIGHT LAUNCH in the second at the same trip. LADY FOREMAN gets the nod in the third at 1100 metres and ROCK 'A' WAY should notch his maiden win in the fourth at 1300 metres for the Dr Clifford Grey Memorial.
