Women fight over babyfather

A case of jealousy resulted in two women being charged with assault at common-law, having an offensive weapon and affray when they appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

They are Sophia Grant and Nicole White, both of a Kingston address.

The court was told that both women were engaged in a fight in downtown Kingston recently, where an officer saw one of the women with a knife in hand trying to stab the other.

It was revealed that the women were engaged in a tussle over the father of both their children. It is understood that both women are currently in a relationship with the same man.

Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey asked the women, "When are you going to stop this foolishness?"

To which White responded, "The man is the whole problem, because he is back and forth between both our houses."

A fingerprint order was made and both women are to return to court for mention on August 30, they were also instructed by RM Pusey to bring 'superman' with them.
