Get married just for sex? |
Dear Pastor,
I am 18, soon to be 19 years old. I am living in America and my boyfriend is in Canada. He likes living in Canada and I like living in New York. Both of us want to get married, but my parents say that I should not marry him as yet. I am a Christian but he is not a Christian. He says he cannot become a Christian until he gets married because sex is his problem. I know he has other girlfriends and I gave him permission to have sex with them until we are married. When we get married things will be different as he will have to stop having sex with these other girls. He is the only boyfriend I have. I can abstain from sex longer than he can. My parents and pastor say that I should not get married to someone who is not a Christian. I would like to hear your opinion. BS Dear BS, Your pastor and your parents are telling you what the Bible says, and they are hoping that you will follow what is written in the Bible. Your boyfriend tells you that he has other girlfriends and you have given him permission to have sex with these girls, but you are hoping that after both of you get married he will stop. You are very naïve. Even if he marries you, he may not stop having sex with other women. You are still very young, so don't be in a hurry to get married. And remember that if you go against what the Bible says, you will suffer the consequences. Pastor |
