Junction, Clark's Town lead SDC T20 hopefuls

The quarter-finalists in the Social Development Commission Community Twenty20 competition will be known tomorrow following the playing of the final set of matches in the round-robin national play-offs across the country.

In the feature matches, which will be played at Racecourse in Clarendon, Group B leaders Junction & Bull Savannah of St Elizabeth will play parish mates Treasure Beach at 10 a.m., while second place Racecourse of Clarendon will battle Alligator Pond of Manchester at 2 p.m.

After two rounds of matches, Junction & St Elizabeth lead the group with maximum six points, and are followed by Racecourse and Alligator Pond, both of whom have three points.

Treasure, who must win to remain alive, are yet to secure a point.

Over in Group A, the feature game at 2 p.m. will see Bridgeport and St John's East, both of St Catherine, battling it out at Dela Vega Community Centre.

Bridgeport are currently second in the group on three points, three behind leaders Richmond Park of Kingston and St Andrew, who will go up against winless Strikeforce of St Thomas at 10 a.m.

Group C, which has Clark's Town of Trelawny leading with maximum six points, will tackle Old Folly of St Ann at the Ultimate Sports Club.

Old Folly needs to win in order to remain in the hunt for a final eight spot, while the group's other two teams Buff Bay of Portland and Jacks River of St Mary are tied on three points, and will play each other at 10 a.m. in the venue's opening match.

Group D will see Westmoreland putting their unbeaten record on the line against Hanover's Lucea at 2 p.m., at Elgin Town. Peterville have six points, while Lucea are without a point. The group's other two teams, who are on three points each, Farm Heights of St James, and Orange will meet in the venue's first encounter at 10 a.m.

The group's winners and runners-up will advance to the quarter-finals, which are slated for next weekend.
