A friendship that went sour, resulted in a fracas that has left one man with a $50,000 fine while his friend has been left nursing injuries to her face.

Twenty-six-year-old Andre Gordon, of a Kingston 20 address, pleaded guilty with explanation to a felonious wounding charge when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. He was brought before the courts after he hit the complainant in her face.

Gordon's attorney told the court that the complainant and his client, who were friends for some time, were at a bar enjoying a few drinks. It is reported that the complainant allegedly threw a bottle at Gordon and he allegedly retaliated by throwing another bottle at her which hit her in the face.

According to Gordon, "She was saying some bad things about my babymada, we were drunk when the argument happened."

An apologetic Gordon turned to the complainant and stated how sorry he was about the incident, "I am sorry; really, really, sorry. If I could take back that day I would."

Gordon was fined $50,000 or spend six months behind bars.
