Seven acts for the Digicel Rising Stars live show on Sunday and viewers had to endure seven average or poor performances.

At the show that was held at TVJ Studio in St Andrew, Ronique Rodney kicked off with Amy Winehouse's Rehab. Judge Tanya Stephens liked her attitude but thought there were points when there was more drama than necessary. Dancer Kemar Brown followed and the judges felt he was better than the dance group that performed the previous week.

"Did it work? Not sure it did, but it was better than that boring dance group last week," judge Anthony Miller said.

The third performer David Harris had some pitch issues throughout his performance and Miller described it as "another lacklustre performance from a singer". Craigy T noted that he saw hunger in Harris and that was missing from many of the other performers.

While acknowledging the challenges that Shana-Kay Sealy faced, Stephens said she liked her voice. Unique 3, however, got a much better response from the judges for their harmonies.

"Best thing I've heard so far," Miller said.

Stephens added, "Unuh give me more hope for the rest of the competition. I really like you guys."

Armed with his guitar and drummer behind him, Xslave did not leave the audience wanting more.

"I liked the overall package more than I like the voice," Stephens said, while Miller described it as 'merely OK'.

But the biggest blunder of the night came from Chevannes Thomas. The gospel singer, who was obviously hoarse, cracked for most of her performance. Although she stopped midway into the performance, she still decided to sing after the music had stopped.

Not amused by her shaking or what seemed like theatrics, Miller said, "God can take care of himself. You need to focus on delivering the best possible performance."
