The police have seized several rounds of ammunition on West Avenue in Central Village, St Catherine, on Saturday.

One man has been taken into custody in relation to the incident, the police said.

According to the Constabulary Communication Network , the Portmore police reported that about 8 p.m., the police were conducting operations in the area when they searched a house.

During the search, the police said, seventeen .45 cartridges were seized, and the man detained.

The identity of the man is, however, being withheld pending further investigations.
