An eight-year-old boy is believed to have drowned in Prospect, St Mary, yesterday.

The police have identified him as Devante Brown from the district.

Reports from the Prospect police are that about 2:30 p.m., Brown was swimming in a pool when he allegedly got into difficulties and drowned.

He was removed from the water and taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigations continue.
