![]() Glowell Preparatory School hosts evening of excellence Parents and well-wishers were given a treat during the annual Glowell Preparatory School Evening of Excellence which went under the theme: 'I know I can', on the school's grounds recently. The two-hour long concert consisted of songs, recitals and dance routines performed by the students of the school. All of the performances were worthy of mention, however, a number of them linger in memory. The signage by the sign language group on the inspirational song I Am Not Forgotten, the dance group's praise dance routine on You Raise Me Up and the pre-school speech, 'Yes We Can', were just a few items that showed the talent that exists at the school. Grade Six performed the penultimate act, a rendition of late pop icon, Michael Jackson's Man In The Mirror and the dancers closed the show with Destra's soca hit, It's Carnival. This dance piece was the recipient of a gold medal at the parish level. Principal of Glowell Prep, Gloria Jack, had this to say: "The performances were excellent. The concert was the second of three functions to be held by the school, this term. First was the transferral ceremony held for students from the kindergarten class, who will be promoted to the Grade One Primary Department class for September, second, the evening of excellence, and third, the school leaving exercise for Grade Six students, who will be attending high school in September". She added: "Overall, the Grade Six students did exceptionally in their GSAT exams, and they will be attending the schools of their choice and that's commendable."
