Soldier returns for sentencing

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) soldier who is accused of cruelty to his children after he is alleged to have beaten them until bruises appeared is to return to court tomorrow for sentencing.

A probation report is also expected to be presented in The Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

Charged with cruelty to child is Rohan Cameron of a Kingston 8 address who is being represented by Micheal Deans.

It is being alleged that the cruelty took place between February and May of this year.

According to the Crown, during that period, the defendant would scold the children until bruises appeared on their skins if they provided incorrect answers to questions he would ask them about their school lessons.

A report was made to Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse and the soldier charged.
