Physical altercation lands women in court |

|
Two women were remanded when they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday after it was revealed that they were engaged in a physical altercation over a man they are both in a relationship with. The women are 25-year-old Diandra Gordon of a Trench Town address and 19-year-old Janice Haley of Chisholm Avenue. They are both charged with assault occasioning bodily harm. According to Gordon, Haley has been harassing her over her boyfriend, with whom she resides. It was also revealed to the court that the man at the source of the feud is also the father of Haley's child. Gordon told the court, "Janice keeps harassing me over my boyfriend, we separated and she and him got back together. She keeps stalking me on Facebook and sending me threats. We are back together now, and she won't leave me alone." It is alleged that while visiting friends in the Trench Town community, Haley was attacked by Gordon and the two began to fight. Haley told the court that due to the dispute, her child has been forced to stop attending school in the area. Gordon told the court "She lives ova Chisholm, weh she a do ova my community, she has no business over there." The two women began to bicker and were then remanded into custody by Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey. They are to return to court for sentencing today. |
