11 held for operating illegal quarry

Eleven persons are to appear in the May Pen Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday, to answer to the charge of operating a quarry without a licence.

Police arrested the men and seized heavy-duty motor vehicles during an operation in Gravel Ground, Clarendon, on Saturday.

Reports from the Island Special Consta-bulary Force's (ISCF) Agro and Environment Unit, are that about 10 a.m., they conducted the operation during which two pickup trucks and a front-end loader were seized and 11 men arrested.

The men, who are all of Clarendon addresses are: Mario Whyte, Ralston Virgo, James Burnett, Nikolai Tomlinson, Alton Aransevia, Ian Stewart, Lloyd Walker, Gerald Parchment, Gerald Swaby, Anthony Hylton, and Lincoln Simpson.
