Accused fraudster offered bail |

Appearing on allegations that he tricked a man into thinking that he could obtain a United States (US) visa for him, Lloyd Moodie was offered $50,000 bail when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday. Moodie, 45, who has been charged with obtaining money by means of false pretence is to return to court on September 11, for trial. US visa It is alleged that between January and June of this year, the accused, who is a businessman, collected US$400 ($40,599) from the complainant to obtain a US visa. It is alleged that the accused also collected $4,000 from the complainant to get a police record. The matter was reported to the police after the complainant ran into difficulties with the accused. The court heard that upon an investigation done by the police, the accused was arrested and charged. |
