Dancehall artiste Dwayno is making waves internationally with his collaboration single, 'Love We Need', featuring incarcerated reggae superstar Buju Banton on the Different Medz Entertainment label.

"The radio disc jockeys who have been playing it say there has been a great response so far from the fans. I had done the song long before Buju Banton got arrested. I wrote the whole song and he did his part and the song 'shot'. I actually got a chance to meet him through a friend, Wesley Wilkins, a part-time engineer who worked with Buju Banton. After the introduction, I went there with Oneil from Voicemail a few times, so I kept the link. Buju was always supportive with his advice," Dwayno said.

promotion

The deejay, whose real name is Dwayne Forrester, spent a rather successful couple of months promoting his music in countries like Trinidad, Guyana, St Lucia, Barbados and the US.

Now, he is turning his attention to Europe where a pair of soca-flavoured singles, Soca Time and Love Weh No Drizzle, have made an impact.

"I did those soca songs and they just took off, and it is the producers for these songs who are lining up shows for me in Europe. Also, Don A Road Don A Jail is also big in Europe, so I am looking forward to the trip so I can promote myself in a new market," he said.

The deejay first vaulted into the spotlight with the release of Don A Road Don A Jail, which topped several local and overseas local charts. Fast-forward a few months and he is now looking towards the release of his debut album, Different Meds.

Other singles to look out for include Everywhere We Go,Anyway for Syckamoh Productions, Wine And Brace and Without Clothes on the Dwayno Recordz label.

"I have shot videos for Without Clothes and Anyway, which are getting great feedback on YouTube," he said.

Dwayno kicks off his European tour in July with a string of shows across the continent, and then he is slated to return to Europe for a show in France in late August. Dwayno is also booked for a show in St Lucia in August.

"I love how the career look so far and I know it can only get better, because I am putting in all my effort to get to that next level," Dwayno said.
