A 38-year-old woman is now dead after she was attacked by four men at her home in Portmore, St Catherine, on Thursday afternoon THE STAR understands.

The woman is Narlene Thompson of a Coconut Place address in Portmore Pines, St Catherine.

It is alleged that around midday on Thursday, four masked men entered Thompson's home and attacked her.

It was also reported, that one of the men was armed with a gun, while another was reportedly armed with a knife.

According to Superintendent Clive Blair of the St Catherine South Division, the woman received multiple stab wounds to her upper body.

Her stepson who was reportedly at home with Thompson at the time of the stabbing was left unharmed by her attackers.

Thompson was subsequently taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A motive behind the stabbing is currently unknown.

According to Supt. Blair, the Major Investigation Task Force has launched an investigation into the matter.
