The St Catherine South police unearthed and seized two illegal firearms Wednesday morning at the Portmore fishing village.

Reports are that an intelligence-driven operation was being carried out in the Dyke Road area when the illegal weapons were found.

According to police reports, a Smith and Wesson M14 rifle and a Beretta semi-automatic pistol were seized around 1 a.m.

THE PORTMORE STAR gathered that no one was arrested in connection with the seizure.

The police say their investigation continues.
